SUNDAY FUNDAY

8 comments:
It's time for Sunday Social! I have already established I have become an awful blogger. BUT I picked up an overnight shift every Wednesday SO I will have 13 hours to dedicate to blogging and doing homework and streaming all my YouTube videos and other completely ridiculous- but necessary- things I need to do in life.

Sunday Social

1. What is your dream job?
My dream job would be in refugee resettlement on a large scale- so maybe working for the United Nations. I've already decided I look good in baby blue so sign me up, baby.
2. If you had just won the lottery and didn’t need to work for money, what would you do with your time?
Let's be honest... I would probably do nothing. But then I would get bored and want to do something else. I would probably travel for awhile and then settle somewhere finally. I would love to work on reform of education and my dream would be to establish free private schools where education- not testing results- are a priority in underprivileged areas. #socialworker4lyfe
3. What piece of career advice would you give to someone just starting out in your field?
Be ready to be poor for the rest of your life! And don't be alarmed if you slowly begin to become an alcoholic!
4. What would be your ideal “just for fun” job?
I would love to write a travel blog for the best mac and cheese's around the world.
5. What was your first “real” job?
I was 13 and worked after school at a local non-profit doing data entry and stuffing envelopes. Sad thing is- I get paid the same amount now 12 years later. That might be the most depressing fact of my life.
Happy Sunday folks!

Sunday Social: My Humble Beginnings

4 comments:
Sunday Social
It's Sunday. You know the drill.

1. What is the name if your blog?
A Different Kind of Plan

2. What do you love most about blogging?
'Meeting' amazing other bloggers out there who have a much better sense of fashion than I do. And also these super flattering and completely random Anonymous spam comments that I have been getting recently and no- I will not delete them because deep down, I believe that they really do mean those sweet, simple, words. Such prose and poetry to my ears.

3. Why did you start blogging?
Like most bloggers, I was bored one day and decided that today would be the day I make a sincere and conscious effort to waste hours of my precious time writing stupid posts about how I watch 10 hours of Family Guy a day and evil things I do to my roommates.

4. What is something you’d want to tell someone just starting out in the blog world?
Guys just ignore the haterz!

I'm kidding. I hate when people say that. If someone disagrees with you- they are not a hater. They are just one of the gazillion billion people on this planet who happen to have an opinion that happens to differ from yours. Please, do not dedicate your life (or even a blog post) about how "haters gonna hate". It makes me judge you. And no I am not a hater- I am just your average, run of the mill bitch.

5. Biggest blogging learning experience you’ve had?
I love exchanging Cara Boxes with bloggers. I have had such positive experiences. I was at first apprehensive that someone would come and kill me if I ever gave out my address, but then I was like "Buttttttt I really want a box filled with fun and awesome stuff!!" and because I am nothing if not a whore for boxes filled with random things, I decided to take the risk and have met some pretty amazing ladies!

6. What are three blogs you love?
This is tough. But I absolutely adore:

She is hilarious and so inspirational. Her body is diesel and she is one of- if not THE- funniest blogger out there. And she swears, which I appreciate. She is also the best comment-leaver and such a dedicated reader. I have a big girl crush on her and always picture her body at the gym when I am sweating/crying. I don't care if that sounds weird! I can't help it!

Jamie is one of the nicest and most sincere bloggers you will ever meet. She is also incredibly inspirational and so wonderfully honest in her writing: it is so refreshing.

Speaking of girl crushes (am I not the creepiest person on all of blogland?) I am a huge fan of Candace. She has the voice of an angel basically and is as obsessed with Orange is the New Black as I am. She also posts recipes and while I usually ignore all recipe posts- I actually like hers because they look delicious.

I have been reading her recently and I was worried we wouldn't have a lot in common because I am tall and she is short but she really shattered all those short people stereotypes I had! She always has super random posts that I love to read and is always having fun on Instagram which is my newest obsession.

I have a ton more blogs I love and stalk and am happy to always find more which is also why I love Sunday Social because I get to meet other cool ladies out there. Happy Sunday guys!

Sunday Social: Fall Edition

8 comments:
Sunday Social

I love Sunday Social. Basically Neely just tells you what to write and you do it and I am nothing if a bind follower who will do anything strangers tell me (I am ripe for the picking prospective cult leaders!), so it is perfect for me.

1. What is your favorite fall activity?
My favorite fall activity is pretty much the same as my favorite winter, spring and summer activity: napping.

But for a more season-specific activity, I love apple picking. I have never been apple picking but I feel like I love it and I am from Massachusetts so the fact that I have never actually gone apple picking is kind of inexcusable except for the fact that I am irrationally afraid of snakes and avoid nature-like areas like the plague.

2. Do you follow a football team?
No. No I do not.

3. What is something fun about fall in your area?
We have this place called the Big Apple where they have apple picking and whatnot. But I just go for the apple donuts and caramel apples- basically unhealthy things that I justify as healthy because they have some apple in them.

4. What are your favorite fall staple outfits?
I love me some skinny jeans and booties. Simple but comfy. I also wear leggings as pants and am unapologetic. They are comfortable and easily transition from day to night. And by easily transition from day to night, I mean I can collapse in my bed still wearing them and justify it because they are leggings which are basically the same thing as pajamas.

5. What things are his looking forward to most about this coming fall season?
Leaves. Boston is so pretty in the fall. I am looking forward to Thanksgiving and cuddles and isn't there a Hunger Games movie coming?

6. What is your favorite fall holiday?
Thanksgiving duh. It's my favorite holiday ever. I get to eat and nap and then go shopping at 4 in the morning. It's my fantasy come to life.

Thanks for stopping by guys! I am off for work and then slaving over my homework all day!

Sunday Social!

6 comments:
It's Sunday which means it's time again for Sunday Social. Sunday is apparently the only day I actually am social especially considering because I literally did not leave my parent's house yesterday. I had great plans for myself: going to the gym, hitting up the Dollar Tree, maybe getting some froyo. Then I discovered my parents had Lifetime Movie Network and I got a glass of some milk in me and all of a sudden nap time happened and then it was 9pm and I was gone for the night. And I quite literally did not utter a single word to a human being that entire day.

It was fantastic.*

Sunday Social

1. What was your favorite trip/vacation/activity this summer?
Definitely New York City, mainly because it was the only trip/vacation I took. It was also a lot of fun and I ate a lot of food which for me is always a good time.

2. What was your favorite outfit look/clothing item of the summer?
I was just a fan of not having to put socks on every morning. Socks is such an extra step for me that, while necessary, seems so time consuming and just a complicated task for the early morning.

3. What is one thing you wish you’d gotten to do this summer?
How about going to the beach? Or like swimming in general? Yeah, none of that happened. THANKS summer school/work!

4. What was your favorite song of the summer?
It changes every day. I know everyone is going to probably say "Blurred Lines" BUT I really liked Little Mix's new song basically because it reminds me of the 90's and I really enjoyed that period.

5. What was your favorite movie/tv show of the summer?
I found Orange is the New Black this Summer so I am counting that. I stalk the actresses online and randomly Google images of them when I can't sleep at 4 in the morning. My favorite character is Daya:

Isn't she beautiful?

Also on a side note did you know that Jackie Cruz who plays Flaca is also the same girl that Kourtney Kardashian decided to make out with on Khloe and Kourtney take Miami? I bet you didn't....

Anyways that's it for me- I gots to get back to my work because suddenly I have my clinical internship and school this week. When did that happen?

Goodbye Summer. You weren't really that memorable or even that exciting but I had some pretty epic naps and caught up on my Lifetime movies, so a good time was obviously had by all.

*I would like to clarify that although I sound like a recluse shut-in, I am not (though it isn't something I will completely rule out for my future, either). I just enjoy solace and have a job where getting yelled/bitched at is the norm and sometimes, I like to hibernate in my room for long periods of time with a sleeve of Oreos and a half carton of milk.

Well... I Used to Be Cute

Wasn't I cute back in the day?

Anywho it's Sunday... Which means it's time for Sunday Social and basically I get to answer questions about myself and you pretend you're interested! I wasn't really feeling this week's questions but I put on my big girl pants and did them because otherwise I would just be staring at this wall in front of me for the next 7 hours.

Sunday Social

1. What do you miss most about being a kid?
I miss being tucked in every night. I am still desperately trying to convince Pedro to move back in with my parents. Their house is ginormous so it would be totally fine and we would have free rent, Fios internet and like 3,000 channels. Not to mention my mom could tuck me in every night!

2. Did you have a nickname growing up? What was it?
I did not have a nickname. I tried to give start spreading around that my nickname was J.Lo but that failed miserably and made me look like a fool. So yeah, that backfired a bit.

3. What was your favorite thing to do at recess?
I distinctly remember in 3rd grade "playing" Spice Girls and it was the clique-iest thing ever. Your day was ruined if you weren't included and/or were stuck being Sporty Spice.

4. What did you want to be when you grew up?
I wanted to be a UN ambassador since I was like in fourth or fifth grade? I was one of those kids who was obsessed with genocides (and by "one of those kids" I mean the .04% of kids obsessed with genocides who did NOT end up becoming serial killers in adulthood). I would read up on them, watch documentaries... my mom was a little worried because it was a SUPER weird thing to do and talk about over dinner, but I think I ended up OK... right Mom?

5. Did you participate in any school activities?
My French ID card. This is the youngest pic of
me I could actually find on my computer.
Look at those cheeks!
Ha, obviously. I was a geek, remember? Well, I remember being a geek. I think I got "cool" in Senior year and it was totally worth the wait. I also didn't participate in any activities until like Junior year and it was only to look good for college. I was the editor of my high school newspaper and I was the president of the Social Justice Club. It was an enthralling youth.

6. What is the funniest thing you did as a kid that your parents still remind you about?
I would fall asleep eating. My parents would be feeding me and I would just pass out. Luckily it was just yogurt and so I would just drool it out anyways.

My grandparents used to love this story. One time I was watching a football game at a bar with my grandfather and I asked really loudly, "Why are they all African American" and apparently the whole bar thought it was hilarious. I am just proud that I was politically correct at a young age despite having pretty un-PC grandparents.

Skydiving, Jew Fros and Mediocrity: Sunday Social

10 comments:
So it is Sunday which means it also the one day a week I am social. Go link up too!

Sunday Social

1. What is something you’ve always wanted to do but are afraid of?
I'm going with sky-diving on this one. Every once in awhile a Groupon or something will pop up and I am like "That would be so awesome!" and I stare at it for 3 to 6 hours and then I'm like "Nahhhhhh" and I always regret it. But the process keeps repeating itself and every time it's a new excuse but I usually blame it on the fact that my insurance plan has about as much protection as a windbreaker from frostbite in Antarctica (who knew Antarctica had TWO 'c's in it? Mind blown). Anywho, I am hoping one day I will grow enough lady balls to actually do it!

2. Where do you see yourself in five years?
In 5 years I will be 29 years old. So I am assume I will be either gracefully accepting my impending 30th birthday by wearing age-appropriate cardigans, pearls and sensible heels OR in a vigorous state of denial and slapping on eye cream every night, wearing leather mini skirts that show my hoohah and inevitable cellulite and weeping over my Master's Degree in a cold, dark room because I can no longer afford electricity because for some godawful reason I decided to become a social worker and be poor forever and ever.

I am hoping (fingers crossed) that I am somewhere in the middle of this spectrum. By 30 I think my eggs will all be dried up so I guess I should try to pop out some MexiJews (hybrid Mexican-Jewish babies. They are a fairly intelligent species and can run pretty quickly compared to their full-breed Jewish brethren but are still significantly slower than their Mexican counterparts due to the wind-resistance created by their massive Jew fros).

Pretty accurate example of what a MexiJew looks like.

3. What are you looking forward to before the end of 2013?
Well seeing as that is 5 months away I hope to be a lot fitter, mildly skinnier and a teensy bit smarter. I hope to be done with my first semester and continue my trend of all A's in Grad School (holla!) and I also am super-duper looking forward to that Hunger Games movie coming out because that is the first book I have read in like 17 years and I am excited to be one of those people in the theatre, commenting on every scene and being like "Um yeah that's not how it was in the book."

4. What are your hopes for your blog?
I hope she's happy, makes good choices and always remembers to use protection.

But seriously, I'm happy with her. She's mediocre- just like her momma. I like the fact only 38 people know about her- I still do not know how those big bloggers do it. More than 3 comments a day and I am like the biggest diva on earth. My ego is far too large to have a bigger blog following- it would be catastrophic for the world.

5. Do you always see yourself living in your current town/city?
PLEASE GOD NO.

Guys I live in a town called "Plainville". Plainville= PLAIN + ville.

I do like living in Massachusetts. We have excellent schools, we are super liberal and love the gays and there is always a guarantee you will live within a 15 minute drive to a Target.

That being said, I have a secret desire to live- even for a year- somewhere in the South. Like most Northerners, I believe the South is like a relic of the past and the good 'ole days. Everyone is sweet, polite, racist (just kidding!)... And also the real estate is dirt cheap so I can live like a king. In Massachusetts $100,000 buys you a 1 bedroom apartment house with a yard just big enough to bury 1 human body (these are actual measurements, too) while $100,000 in like Arkansas can buy me a mini palace and a chauffeur named Charles.

Apparently they also have a lot of fried chicken in the South (again basing all my information on whatever I have seen on TV/heard from my one Southern friend from Tennessee) and I have a feeling I would really enjoy that since I ate a shitton of schnitzel (Jewish version of fried chicken so obviously it's 1000x more Kosher and 1000x less delicious).

6. What is your morning routine?
Ha. What is that? Well I can tell you how my ideal morning would go:

6:30am: My harpist begins her melody to gentle arouse me out of my extremely fulfilling 14 hours of Ambien induced sleep.
6:35am: My house-elf, Shania, comes with my morning hot cocoa and doesn't say a single word because I HATE when people talk to me in the morning.
6:40am: Shania returns with a stack of homemade chocolate chip pancakes and tells me I look beautiful.
7:00am: Shania clears away my pancakes and my harpist begins my "let's get in the shower, girl" song.

My carb-free and zero-calorie pancakes.

7:15am: My shower is over. I didn't need long because I am a naturally clean person and I never need to shave because I am the one, lone naturally hairless Middle Eastern girl except for those luscious locks sprouting out of my head.
7:20am: I am all dry and cue the birds to come in and dress me.

7:30am: I am ready to go! I do not need to wear make-up as I am naturally flawless. John Stamos hands me the lunch he labored over all morning and my harpest, Shania, all the birdies and John wave me goodbye as Charles, my chauffeur, drives me to work.

In reality, my mornings are spent while I am in a half comatose stage so I am not really sure what my morning routine is. I should tape it one day but since Paranormal Activity I am terrified of filming myself in fear I will find out I am haunted or secretly being molested in my sleep and in all honesty, IGNORANCE IS BLISS :)

Happy Sunday guys!

Oh, it's time to be Social Again

9 comments:
1. When you were little what did you want to be when you grew up?
I wanted to be an ambassador with the UN. I was a really cool kid. I even bought a UN helmet I saw once at a thrift shop. I look really good in baby blue.

2. What was your favorite way to kill time as a kid?
Same way I kill time now: naps. Silly question.

3. When did you get your first cell phone?
High school. When I started to drive- so when I was 16. It was super old, too and not the cool ones that the other kids had. I remember the cool girls at school had the cell phone AND those texting only gadgets (I have no idea what the hell it was called) and I basically had only flip-screens. I think the most popular phone with my crowd was the Chocolate phone and like every single girl got a Chocolate phone from their boyfriends on Valentine's Day. I got nothing on Valentine's Day because I had no boyfriend and acne. Not the greatest combination.

4. What is your favorite magazine to read?
I never really read magazines unless I am stuck at a nail salon and do not feel like trying to have a conversation with my nail manicurist, especially after I discover that it wasn't me she was actually talking to but whoever is on the opposite end of that Bluetooth she has shoved in her ear.

Can I pick a online magazine? Sure? I love Jezebel.com. Read it every day and always learn something new.

5. What is the one random object people would be surprised to find in your purse?
A pink pepper spray bottle. It kind of looks like perfume and you would never give it a second look. It's also totally illegal in MA but I refuse to get raped/murdered/maimed/kidnapped etc. I'm OK with being robbed. Just none of the other ones. Hence, my pink pepper spray.

Happy Sunday!

Sunday Social: Meet My Inner Fat Kid

9 comments:
I have an inner fat kid. Sometimes I cannot control him and he forces me to eat disgusting crap like marshmallows with peanut butter and grilled cheese with mayonnaise. My inner fat kid is basically trying to give me a heart attack for my 27th birthday.

If I had to describe my inner fat kid, he would probably look like Kenan from his good days of Kenan and Kel. (What happened to Kel, BTW? I imagine him living in a huge secluded mansion spending his days drinking orange soda).

1. If you could only eat one thing for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Grilled cheese sandwiches. I love them. French fries are a close second though!

2. What’s your guilty pleasure/comfort food?
Macaroni and cheese. It feels the void in my heart.

3. What’s the weirdest/craziest thing you’ve ever eaten?
Bull tongue and then bull throat. I've eaten a lot of animal parts from a bull.

4. What foods do you avoid at all costs?
I can't stand coconut. I tell people I am allergic because I am literally so disgusted with coconut and I have no idea why. I must have had some traumatic experience with coconut as a child, who knows? And I can detect coconut in anything. And coconut shavings literally make my skin crawl.

5. What meal reminds you of your childhood?
Sheperd's pie. My mom would really only make this on Halloween and I always looked forward to it. I haven't celebrated Halloween in a couple of years and I always force my Mom to still make it for me the next day.  It's delicious!

6. Share one of your favorite recipes and the story behind it.
Ha seriously? Ok I will attempt this at the very least. My recipe is for cerviche, which I make about once a week. It's super healthy, is very fresh and zesty and is super easy to make. It is also a Latin/Spanish dish so it also makes you look cultured.

  • Take a lot of limes (like 12) and squeeze the juice out of them. Put juice in a bowl.
  • Get some shrimps and take their tails off. Put them in the lime juice.
  • While the shrimp are "cooking" in the lime juice, we're gonna chop some shit up.
  • Take a tomato, an onion and a bunch of cilantro. Chop it.
  • Take a jalapeno. Chop that. Remember to not touch the jalapeno without washing your hands after! Trust me...
  • Once the shrimp starts to turn pink in the juice, you know it's done. Give it 15 minutes. It doesn't take too long.
  • Slice up an avocado and arrange it on the dish so it looks pretty.
  • Throw your chopped tomato, onion and cilantro into the shrimp and lime juice mix.
  • Stir that around and serve!
It is seriously easy to make. You can eat it alone or with chips- either way, delicious!

Happy Sunday folks!

Prison is NOT Club Med

5 comments:
Guess what? It's Sunday! Which means I finally get my ass into gear and do some blogging. Yipee! This week's theme of Sunday Social is TV shows:

Sunday Social

1. What is your favorite TV as a kid?
I am going to really age myself here. And by age myself, you will know I am 24 even though I act like I am 87. Anywho, I loved Disney shows like So Weird, Lizzie McGuire and That's So Raven. When I was even younger, I really did not watch TV. My mom was one of "those moms" so we didn't have a TV and she basically ruined my life forever and now I am partially deformed because my formative years did not include Barney or Sesame Street.

2. What is your current favorite TV show?
So I just came off a two day Orange is the New Black bender. That show has quickly become my number one all time favorite and I try to introduce it into every conversation I have. I also love reality TV shows- but not Housewives or Toddlers in Tiaras reality TV. I pretty much love every show on the ID network and love true-crime series. I love watching a good murder get solved or a biography on a serial killer. This is bizarre, true, but is probably due to the fact that my mom did not allow me to watch TV as a child. SEE WHAT YOU DID MOM? But seriously, let your kids watch Barney because otherwise they might turn out like this:

3. Which reality show would you NEVER do?
Umm any reality show. Have you seen the people on these shows? But if I had to pick, it would probably be a show that required me to be athletic in any way. Because that would be humiliating. And not in the funny way but in the sad way, like when you see a deer that got hit by a car on the side of the highway.

4. Which reality show would you LOVE to do?
House Hunters: International Edition because A) it means I finally got enough money to buy a house and B) it means I finally got enough money to buy a house in some exotic country. If I ever land on House Hunters, it means I finally made it. Obviously, not holding my breath here.

5. What is the TV personality/character that you feel is most like you?
I am going to pull out the Orange is the New Black show again because it's amazing and possibly life-changing. I love prison shows (every Saturday night is exclusively dedicated to Lock-Up) and when it involves some comedy? Win-win. Basically the premise of the show is an upper-class yuppy White girl gets thrown into federal prison for a year and needs to survive it while keeping her life outside of prison intact as well. And she is pretty self-absorbed and obviously I can totally relate to that. But the part I love is when she's talking about going to prison and she's like "Well it's a good opportunity for me to get ripped and catch up on my reading" and I was like "Oh em gee, that is how I think of prison too!" And then I watched two minutes of Oz and realized prison sucks and is not in any shape or form anything like a Club Med minus some basic amenities like all-you-can-eat buffets and oh yeah,  basic human rights.

6. Which TV character would you want to date?
This guy:

For several reasons. One being that he would whip my ass into shape and do it with his adorable smile and endless forehead wrinkles.

Secondly he would cook for me delicious meals of boiled chicken and steamed broccoli.

Thirdly, did you see this man's abs?

And lastly, he would whip my ass into shape.

That's it for Sunday Social!

And thanks for everyone's sweet comments on my new blog design! I downloaded a free trial of Photoshop and have been having some fun! Also my mom said my previous design looked like a little girl vomited pink all over my website so yeah, it was time for a change.

Have a great Sunday everyone!

Sunday Social: Accidental Racist

9 comments:
I have questionable taste in music. And by questionable, I mean bad. I know it's bad because every time I volunteered to play DJ at a party or a pre-game, I was either mercilessly mocked or politely asked to GTFO (depending on how much alcohol had been consumed at that point).

This week Neely at A Complete Waste of Makeup's Sunday Social theme is Music.

Sunday Social

1.  What is your all-time favorite song?
This a tie between

and

I just like the Skee-Lo song because I know the lyrics and the Rascal Flatts one is because I have a beating heart and can feel emotions

2. Who is your favorite singer/band?
I'll admit it. I stalk her and check Google pics every day and even sat through E! News for a 5 minute segment they did on her.

3. What song reminds you of your childhood?

4. What songs put you in a good mood?

5. What is your music to rock out to in your car?
Ha please. I will rock to anything. I like to pretend I am in a music video when listening to a song and reinact said music video with elaborate facial gestures and flawless chair dancing.

BUT if I had to pick it would 100% be this diva right here. There is nothing more fun than speeding down a highway and belting out ANNNNNDDDDDD IIIIIIIIEEEEEEIIIIIII WILL ALWAYS LOOOOOOVEE YOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOU"

ALSO on a semi related note:

This is 97% accurate.

6. What is the most embarrassing album or song you own?
I am not embarrassed by anything I do own. But society would probably judge me for downloading this song:

FOR THE RECORD: I think this song is idiotic but I was genuinely curious when I heard it and downloaded it so I could bring it into my Racism and Oppression class so we could discuss in further how idiotic this song was.

Happy Sunday everyone!

Sunday Social

I am linking up with A Complete Waste of Makeup for this week's Sunday Social. I missed last week but I peeked at the questions for this week and I thought "what the hell. I've been a hermit all weekend, might as well try to be mildly social via the interwebs".

1. What is the best trip you’ve ever been on?
I did a backpacking trip with a girlfriend around Europe and it was the most amazing thing ever. We did Oktoberfest in Munich, got high as kites in Amsterdam, ate ourselves into obesity in Italy. It was epic and something I will never forget. Amazing time.

The only thing I remember from Oktoberfest is being deliriously happy and oh yeah, getting kicked out of a tent because we were too drunk. #typicalamericans
2. What is your best idea for a girls weekend trip?
Spa weekend where we can be social but also pass out on the beach together in complete silence.

3. What is your best idea for a couples trip?
Maybe a cabin in the woods? Except I would be worried I would get murdered by some psycho serial killer. I would also love to go backpacking with Pedro one day but also go to some super posh resort hotel and have a personal man servant to wait on me. That sounds fun.

4. What is the best vacation on the cheap?
Your parents house. Seriously- I love when my parents go on vacation. It means air conditioning, free cable and getting three months of laundry done in one shot.

5. What is the place you most want to visit?
I really want to visit Mexico so I can see where Pedro grew up and hopefully bask in and drink whatever he grew up on so I can be mellow like him. Oh and so I can meet my future in-laws so I can implement this elaborate plan I have already devised to make them love me.

I am linking up with A Complete Waste of Makeup for this week's Sunday Social.

But first I have to give a shout-out to my Papa and wish him a VERY Happy Papa's Day! I am stuck at work til 9pm, however I made sure to dedicate my Facebook status to him which is a pretty BFD because I post something on Facebook about every 3 months.

So now on to this week's Sunday's Social:

1. What is your biggest driving pet peeve?
Hmmm... I'm a Masshole so basically everything ticks me off. I hate tailgaters. BUT I also loathe with a passion people who use their brights because it effing blinds me and I get irritated and a mild case of road rage where I will spend the remainder of my drive plotting your death.

2. Biggest Blogging pet peeve?
This:

3. Biggest general pet peeve?
People who feel the need to talk down to me just because I am unusually attractive. It does not mean I am dumb. But seriously, I hate people who feel they are bettet than you and are visible in their demonstration of that. You make me feel badly :(

4. What is your most irrational fear?
I get nervous when QVC or HSN run re-runs and aren't live. I worry that something happened so I will usually (yes-usually) call in and just check in on what's going on. It's weird.

5. 3 celebrities you’d want to have dinner with?
Easy. Selena, Demi and Barack Obama. I feel like we would all have a lot to talk about.

Sunday Socializing

6 comments:

I am linking up with A Complete Waste of Makeup for this week's Sunday Social after a mini hiatus. I liked the questions and had absolutely nothing else to do so.. why not?

How did you come up with your blog name?
Well I am a planner and had always envisioned my life according to this master plan I had obsessively designed and tweaked for myself throughout the years. Then while I was out fulfilling my life goals on this very determined life plan, I ended up falling completely off path and found myself on a very different kind of plan. Get it?

What is your favorite thing about blogging? Reading and stalking blogs that I like. Learning about new things from other bloggers. Being able to unwind after a heavy day and read about the latest trends in ombre lipstick. It's like my social network and anti-depressant all wrapped into one!

What is one thing you have discovered because of blogging and now cant live without? Instagram! I check it pretty much every hour. I'm obsessed.

Facebook or Twitter? and why? Facebook. My Facebook isn't even linked with my blog account but I need it to keep in touch with all my friends. Yes, I need it.

If one celeb read your blog who would you want it to be? Obviously Miley Cyrus. Or Demi Lovato. Or Selena. Because I am secretly 12 years old and/or a pervert pedophile.

What is something you want people to know about your blog? I cry a lot, mess up a lot, fail a lot... but always keep it true and real. Maybe slightly embellished... but generally pretty honest.

Now I am off to go stalk some blogs. Happy Sunday!

Sunday Social!

I am linking up with A Complete Waste of Makeup for this week's Sunday Social again because I lack originality today to draft my own post and love talking about myself!

1. What is your favorite kind of surprise?
The best kind of surprise is no surprise. I hate surprises. Don't surprise me. Unless it's like "You won $100000000 million dollars". Even then, I will be suspicious and probably try to hit you. Don't surprise me- you will get hurt and I will most likely end up crying.

2. Flowers or Chocolate?
Chocolate. Except I just remembered I'm on a diet- I mean lifestyle change- so flowers... I guess. Gift cards are best, though.

3. What is your favorite summertime activity?
The beach obviously. But I'm snobby with my beaches. And if the beach sucks, I rather just hang out at the nearest air conditioned mall.

4. Do you have any vacations planned this Summer?
Ha.

No I don't. Want to hang out?

5. Favorite Summer Holiday?
My family and I used to go to Caseaux, in France, every summer with my whole side of my French family and I have the greatest memories from there.

6. Dream Vacation?
A backpack and a round-the-world plane ticket. And I would also like that $1000000000 million dollars as well. Please.

[edit] I definitely misunderstood question #5. Growing up holiday was interchangeable with 'vacation' (I think it's one of those annoying European things. Enjoy it!

Sunday Social

I am linking up with A Complete Waste of Makeup for this week's Sunday Social again and this week we're taking a step back into the past!

Wasn't I a cute kid? And blonde, for some reason.

1. 1 year ago I was doing …. I was about to quit a job that I hated. I was moving in with my boyfriend at the end of the month and was kind of in a state of limbo that was both exciting and terrifying.

2. 5 years ago I was doing …. I was back in DC as a college sophomore! Ahhh I am old. I had just gotten back from taking a semester off to live on a kibbutz in Israel and and I was really unhappy back in DC. That summer I went back to Israel anyways so I was probably excited to be heading back I imagine!
This basically sums up kibbutz life. And recognize these girlies? They're still my BFFFFFFFF's

3. 10 years ago I was doing…. I was in high school. I was 14 years old and just finishing my first year at an all-girls Catholic high school outside of Boston. Wool plaid skirts and knee socks included.

I'll let you guess which one is me...
4. 1 year from now Ill be doing… I hope to be more settled with Pedro. I will be entering my third and final year of grad school! I will hopefully not be cleaning up any more Moose surprises!

5. 5 years from now ill be doing… I will be... 29. So probably in the throes of a mental breakdown as I am petrified of turning 30 (I know, I know... I'm annoying!). I will be out of grad school, licensed and working. I will hopefully be married, maybe I will have a baby? Oh I have no idea. I hope I am just happy, healthy, with Pedro and Moose and insanely wealthy. Is that too much to ask?

Sunday Social- My Amazingly Boring Childhood

2 comments:

I am linking up with A Complete Waste of Makeup for this week's Sunday Social that focuses on childhood. Mine was pretty uneventful as evidenced by my boring answers below.

Did you sleepwalk as a child?
Nope. And to this day, I still sleep like a log. Once I am down, there is no way to wake me up. It's incredibly convenient for living in an apartment where our neighbors violently argue about laundry softener (true story). It's also incredibly inconvenient for when masked robbers/serial killers break into your apartment, steal all your treasures and shove a fork through your neck (not a true story... knock on wood).

Did you ever try to run away or sneak out of your house?
I believe one day I "ran away" for like 2 hours. I went across the street and forgot to pack snacks so naturally I had to return home. I also had no way to know how much time had passed so I thought I had been gone like 17 months and when I walked back in triumphantly expecting this grand reception, I was very sadly disappointed.

Did you have any imaginary friends?
None. I did (still do) talk to myself a lot, though. And by talk to myself, I mean I have legit conversations with myself. Does that count?

Did you ever go toilet papering?
No. I participated in no such deviant behavior. I was a good girl.

Did you ever sneak tv shows you weren’t allowed to watch?
After TGIF, my brother would stay up awake while my parents passed out on the couch and watch 20/20. I think that is where I developed such an... imaginative childhood where I was convinced every neighbor was secretly a serial killer with some collection of body parts in their potting shed. My parents were convinced for awhile I would end up as a detective, but the sight of blood causes me to pass out (true story).

Thanks for stopping by and hope to meet some new bloggers that hopefully had more exciting/less violent childhoods!

Sunday Social

It's fun to be back and blogging again! And I am linking up with A Complete Waste of Makeup for this week's Sunday Social.

1. What is your shopping weakness?
I love online shopping. My favorite spots to hit up are Asos, NYC&Co and Target. But for in-store shopping, I love Target. I make excuses to go and then end up with a cartful of random crap that I have spent the last hour justifying to myself that I need. And yes, this does happen on a weekly basis.

2. What is your food weakness?
Carbs. Primarily in the form of baked mac and cheese and chocolate chip pancakes.

3. What is your go to movie to watch when nothing is on?
Any kind of documentary on serial killers.

4. What is your go to breakfast food?
Eggs if I make the effort. Otherwise, I'll just hold out for lunch.

5. Do you drink coffee?
I randomly have been getting into drinking coffee and I take it black, maybe with sugar but most of the times just half a splenda if anything. It makes me feel old to drink it and I secretly always wish I had just ordered a damn hot chocolate.

Happy Sunday guys!

Sunday Socializing

No comments:
I decided today to participate in my first ever "Social" (I think that's what they're called...?) And I'm linking up with Ashley and Neely for their Sunday Social, and this week's theme is Pinterest.

1. What is your favorite outfit pin?
This is just one of many. I love clothes and I pin the hell out of them. I just am really feeling the long pencil skirt (just below the knee) and have been on the hunt for the perfect one. This outfit is amazing and perfect and I love it.

2. What is your favorite food pin?
So I actually don't pin too much food. But this looks amazzzzzing.

3. What is your favorite wedding pin?
This one is an easy one because this past week, I was bored and naturally ventured onto Pinterest and found my dream wedding dress. Naturally it's several thousand dollars, but the inner cheapie in me found a company in China that makes them for like 1/10th of the price (I'm a bad American... I know). I don't even have a proposal or a ring yet but I'm tempted to just go ahead and buy the dress just so I can wear it around the house, freak my boyfriend out and post pictures of it on Facebook to just confuse all my family and friends. It's definitely not the most traditional, but isn't it goooorgeous?
I was actually planning to dedicate a whole post to this dress where I could wax poetically about it's beauty and photoshop my head onto this poor woman's body so consider yourselves spared.

4. What is your favorite DIY/craft pin?
This isn't so much DIY as it is buy a bunch of tea cups and put them all together and drop your jewelry in them and voila! it's beautiful and even more beautiful when I take a picture of it with my DSLR and add a funky filter. But DIY for me is more like "Look, baby I added a sticker to this plastic box and then submerged the whole thing in glitter. I am totally crafty. I'm going to open up an Etsy store and make millions. So this tea cup ensemble is a DIY as I'll ever be.

5. What is your favorite quote/verse/lyric pin?
Still here? I'm impressed...

6. Share one more random pin you love.
This one literally always makes me smile.

Thanks for stopping by and I can't wait to see what ya'll pinned!
